Beach season isn't over...it's just begun! For dogs that is! Celebrate the first day dogs are welcome on the boards and beach by participating in our first ever Barks on the Boards, a fundraiser for the Delaware SPCA. So break out the leash and your flip flops and take to the boards to help animals in need. No dog? No problem! You don't need to bring a dog to participate. Enjoy a leisurely stroll on the boardwalk, then stay for fun activities for the whole family. We'll have food, children's activities, pet games and contests, and more.
All proceeds from this event will go directly to the care of abused, neglected and homeless animals, and efforts to reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs.
With no operating funds from the state or county governments, or money from national animal welfare organizations, Bark on the Boards raises critical funds needed to operate our Georgetown shelter, the only shelter in Sussex County.
The first 150 people to register will receive a free dog bandana compliments of Gina's Pet Sitting!
