Fundraising Tips
Now is the time to start fundraising. The earlier you start, the more you will raise and you may even win some great prizes. Every penny you raise will go directly to the hundreds of homeless and abused animals we care for every day. We hope these tips will help you. Be creative and have fun!
1) Email your supporters!
Take advantage of this free and easy fundraising tool which allows you to customize your very own web page and send out e-mails to everyone you know to ask for their support! People can then make secure online donations that will go directly to the DE SPCA in your name. To register and create your personalized fundraising page, go to www.firstgiving.com/delawarespca/bark-on-the-boards and follow the easy instructions. When you are done, email the web address you created to everyone you know asking them to pledge their support of you in the Walk. If you need help, contact Chris Motoyoshi at chris@delspca.org.
2) Send a fundraising letter!
Send a letter to people you know telling them about the event and asking for their support. Don't forget to enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.
3) Seek pledges the old fashioned way!
Take the pledge form from the brochure to co-workers, classmates, neighbors and family. Simply have them pledge an amount in support of your participation in the event and collect the money. Turn this money in with your form the day of the event.
4) Find out if your employer will match your donation!
Many employers offer matching gifts, and this is an excellent way to double your donation!
5) Host a fundraising event
Hold a bake sale, yard sale, car wash or other event to raise money for the animals. Use your imagination and be creative.
6) Have a party, and in lieu of gifts, ask everyone to sponsor you by making a small donation!
7) Get your kids and their classmates involved!
8) Involve your local businesses!
Solicit support by asking local businesses that you frequent to sponsor you!
