| National Hair-Cut-A-Thon to benefit DE SPCA: Book Your Appointment Now! |

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE – Made Ya Look Salon and Spa is currently taking appointments for a world record haircutting event coming to the Rehoboth Beach salon on August 9. This national cut-a-thon will feature 50 haircuts in 50 states in 50 days, all to raise awareness about the plight of homeless and abused animals while attempting to set a Guinness World Record. The Delaware leg will raise money for the Delaware SPCA, Sussex County’s only animal shelter. The record attempt is the brainchild of Patrick Lomantini, a stylist from Wichita, KS who last year set a world record for cutting hair 72 hours straight! Proceeds went to the local Kansas Humane Society. This year, Lomantini is setting his sights on a new world record by doing 50 cuts in all 50 states, and doing it in 50 days! In each state, he is partnering with a local animal welfare organization, as well as a hair salon that will provide him space and book appointments. In June, Lomantini reached out to the Delaware SPCA to get involved. “We were thrilled to be invited to participate in this national effort to raise awareness for homeless animals, and to have the opportunity to raise much needed funds for our Georgetown shelter”, said SPCA development director Christina Motoyoshi. As a regular supporter of the Delaware SPCA, Made Ya Look Salon and Spa eagerly signed on as host of the cut-a-thon, where Lomantini will cut hair for 12 straight hours, 8 am – 8 pm. The salon is also a sponsor of the Delaware SPCA’s upcoming Run for the Paws 5K and Dog Trot, to be held August 20th in Dewey Beach. Anyone wishing to participate in the hair-cut-a-thon can book an appointment by calling the salon at 302-226-1400. The cuts are free of charge, but a minimum donation of $20 is requested. Human and canine representatives from the Delaware SPCA will also be on hand throughout the day. |
