Delaware has passed a new law outlining standards for animal shelters, which will improve conditions for shelter animals statewide and ensure that euthanasia is only used as a method of last resort.  Senate Bill 280 was supported by all the animal shelters including: the Delaware SPCA, Faithful Friends, Delaware Humane Association, and Kent County SPCA.  The bill unanimously passed in the Delaware Senate and House of Representatives.  Many thanks to Governor Jack Markell, Senator Patricia Blevins, and Representative Melanie George for their efforts to pass this important legislation.
