Doggy Day Out is a short-term foster program where community members take a shelter dog for an adventure offsite! These field trips, which may include a hike, walk at a local park, or other outing, help pups manage kennel stress, burn off energy, and get exposure to potential adopters!
Participating in this program requires minimal training commitments. Anyone interested should complete a short questionnaire, and we will reach out to you once approved with next steps.
Doggy Day Out is a great way to get outside and have fun with a canine sidekick! Who knows? You may fall in love and want to keep your doggy pal for life!
Made possible by the Michaelian family
Doggy Day Out was made possible through a generous gift by the Michaelian family in memory of their beloved dog, Jewel, who was adopted from Delaware SPCA in 2011. Through this memorial contribution, the Michaelians are allowing shelter dogs to experience life outside the shelter and helping match homeless pups with their forever families.
